When is DogCat a better fit?
DogCat’s documented free limits suit larger households or people caring for many animals. It brings weight history, vaccination records, documents and reminders into pet profiles. Its FAQ says an internet connection is required for access and sync, so consider where you usually record care before choosing.
Nuzzleway’s distinction is the combination of a daily plan, guidance through life stages and memories, rather than an advantage in caregiver capacity. If your priority is a free shared health tracker, DogCat deserves serious consideration. Check the Plus extras in your own app store instead of assuming a universal price or that basic sharing needs Plus. [Source 1]
When does Nuzzleway fit?
Consider Nuzzleway when you want today’s routines alongside life-stage guidance and a journal of observations and photos. Its plan uses the pet’s context and recent entries. Shared Home is for two people in total; a larger family should compare caregiver limits carefully.

Nuzzleway: For two people: the person who creates the home needs Nuzzleway Pro; the invited caregiver does not need their own subscription. Both use their own account.
DogCat: No subscription is required for basic shared care: the official FAQ states unlimited shared users for free. Plus extras are optional. Sharing can grant editing or view-only access, so check the permission assigned to each person. [Official sources]
Will everyone receive the same reminders?
Sharing a record and delivering an alert are different functions. In Nuzzleway, routines can have reminders and Shared Home has optional activity notifications. Do not assume every device receives identical alerts. Check permissions and complete a sample routine together before relying on either app.
DogCat: DogCat documents shared routines, reminders and records. Its own 11pets comparison advises checking the scheduled time and phone notification permissions if a reminder is missing. Shared data alone does not establish identical notification delivery on every device. [Official sources]
Before moving your records
Keep a copy of your existing history. Check whether your pets, dates, notes and documents can be exported and whether the destination accepts that format. We have not verified a direct import between these apps. Test one routine and the invited person’s access before moving all your care.

Prices, plans and availability can change by country, platform and version. We leave unconfirmed limits explicit rather than treating them as missing features. Neither this comparison nor a care app replaces veterinary advice.
